On Saturday October 18th in Naples Florida, Monique’s was honored by the DPHA (Decorative Plumbing & Hardware Association) with their coveted “Showroom of the Year Award”. Naples was the location of this year’s annual DPHA Conference where the manufacturers, representatives and showroom owners gather to network, share best practice experiences and receive wonderful educational opportunities organized by the DPHA. The entire weekend focuses on kitchen & bath products that are displayed on site and in many cases feature manufacturer’s newest products making their debut at the show.
Receiving this national award for Monique’s means that the recent changes we have implemented along with our commitment to the relentless pursuit of excellence has resonated with our clients and now with the larger industry community. I asked a few of the Judges how they selected the best showroom. They explained that Judging for the award includes many aspects of a showroom, not just the way it looks. An educated and experienced sales staff, commitment to customer satisfaction; backed up with action, creative and innovative displays, an intuitive flow of the showroom space helping the client to utilize their time more efficiently and industry feedback at all levels confirming that the showroom acts professionally and delivers what it espouses.
With the importance of digital media, the use of interactive and friendly web sites, social media, “winning” with google and the use of blogging to educate and keep clients in the loop are also considered a must in today’s innovative showrooms. Finally, giving back to the community and to the industry was important to them.
The judges I was able to speak with were thrilled for us and insisted that we were very worthy of this award. I’m so proud of our team at Monique’s as well as for our partners that help with our web site (MyPlumbingShowroom.com), our digital marketing partners (Team Ally Advertising Group) and all of our conventional marketing professionals that help us to expand our message and reach our clients.
DPHA’s well-deserved reputation for quality and ability to create value for its members have enabled the organization to become the nation’s largest association dedicated exclusively to advance the interests of the independent decorative plumbing and hardware channel.
Since its creation in 2002, DPHA has continually produced many marketing, educational and infrastructure products to improve our members’ businesses. DPHA has been honored with an Industry Leadership Award from Kitchen & Bath Design News for providing a unified voice and direction for the DPH industry. The magazine also described DPHA in an article as “the essence of what trade associations are all about.”
